I Heart Minnie is coming o Disney DVD on February 7, 2012 and my daughter is head over heals in love with this little mouse. She has been a fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a while now.  Actually more like- I know all the little jingles and catch myself singing along most of the time. Don’t laugh.

First let me say that this was definitely the best holiday party I have ever been to.   First class all. the. way.  Thank you so much, Fresh and Easy!

Chef Cynthia Perez out did herself in providing us a variety of appetizers and drinks.  Oh and the desserts… dios mio!

There was a huge selection to choose from and they all deserve the spotlight, but today I will highlight the best of the best appetizers.

First is a F&E TURKEY & CRANBERRY SAUSAGE WITH SWEET POTATO & CHERRY TOMATO SKEWERS

This can be an easy appetizer or just like the recipe that is linked up is perfect with a salad!

Next is the Mini Beef en Croutes. O.M.G.  These are to die for. I don’t have a picture.  I think I ate them too fast for me to take a photo. They are beef filets with creamy mushrooms in a flaky pastry. They come in a 12 ct. pack for get this… $6.99.   Ugh, I now I’m craving these…. SO GOOD!

Next is the Brie and Cranberry Pastry Puffs.  This is the icing on the CAKE!!!

 I swear if I wasn’t sitting with some blogger friends, I would have had way more than just…3. (:  This also is a 12 ct. pack for $6.99. <<This is a must!

Then of course is dessert and the most delicious cider I have tasted. Fresh and Easy has a variety of desserts that will have your guest sitting around the dessert table stuffing singing with Oooh and Ahhhs!  I know I was… ha!

Ok, now I think the highlight of the evening as the Sparkling Pumpkin Spiced Apple Cider.

I don’t know about the rest of the party, but this was a HIT at our table.  I don’t even know the right words to describe how delicious this was. This will be at our choice of cider at midnight on new years.  It’s that good. Just go get it and be happy. (:

Summer vacation is soon coming to an end.  Were you able to accomplish all that you wanted for the kids this summer?

We did some traveling and visited some local “family” spots.  We even got to visit the beach a couple of times too. I think this summer has been one of our busiest summers, ever.  I’m sure the best time for my kids were the visit to the beaches.  We had a hard time pulling the kids away from the sand.

As our schedule winds down and we prepare for the start of a new school year, I want to make the time left with the kids home a little more memorable.

There is really nothing better than a family movie night.  Do you have them in your family?  When there is nothing to do and the kids are bored at home, we pop in a movie and watch it together.  Sometimes we even watch a movie in our bedroom.  I think the kids love it when we watch and enjoy a movie together.   Kool-Aidis helping me do just that.

Some of you may know that my familia and I have dinner together.  All the time. Unless there is an event that I have to go to or one of the kids are with my prima, we always have dinner together.  The 5 of us.  5 out of 7 nights I cook dinner from scratch.   Whether it’s Filipino or Mexican cuisine, I cook at home. It is like second nature for us.  Every evening at 6pm, we have dinner.  Luckily (for me), our TV broke in the dinning/living room.  So now, we are forced to talk to the kids, and most importantly… the kids can talk to us!

We have been eating dinner together since the start of our marriage.  Then when the kids came along, it just never changed.  I know this is very uncommon.  Heck, I think I’m the only one in my familia who does this.  I clearly remember a time that my nephew complained to my sister about not eating together for dinner. I know that every family is different. Even more when school is in session. With after school activities, traffic, work,sports and everyone coming home at different times, it must be tough!  But, I urge you to give it a try.  Once a week.  That’s all it takes.
