Have you heard of GigCoin? I was presented with this site during BlogHer, but I didn’t catch on til these past few weeks. Great amigas, Julie and Ana have come up with this site that pays you for (in my case) gigs!

Yup, that’s right…. little gigs/jobs from brands of all sizes. Like I said, I just started with them, and I’ve made enough money to pay for my hosting for both blogs!!! I know… I’m excited too! lol

The Gigs I’ve done include a short survey. From giving my opinion on an iPhone app, to what kind of gigs I would do for an “X” amount of money. The gigs are simple. They require thought and sincerity. After all it is a, Gig! This is great for bloggers because it gives us a chance to voice a personal expression to brands that go through Gigcoin. If you are a business looking into working with Bloggers, and want to get a focus group started for a project you might have, in my opinion… Gigcoin is a way to go.

GigCoin was created by Julie Diaz-Asper and Ana Roca Castro – two mom entrepreneurs with a lot of experience hiring folks for gigs with big brands: community managers, survey participants, blog post contributors, designers, and SEO experts. Tired of all the red tape and time involved to find, manage, and pay for talented people, they created GigCoin because they needed it themselves. That’s where GigCoin comes in, offering not only the opportunity to tap into a diverse community of talent, but also a simple solution for hiring, managing, and paying them. We also think everyone should have a side hustle nowadays. Times are tough, and a couple of gigs can add up fast. – GigCoin.com

Looking to get opinions/feedback from bloggers for a project you have for your brand? Contact Gigcoin!

Now, I’m not saying that I’m rollin’ in the dough, but I have really enjoyed my little time there. It’s nice to have a little extra in my Paypal account for the little stuff that the blogs should require. I invite you to join in on the fun too!

After the awesome Active Ford Assist test drive, we headed out to get in the ultra secret 2011 Ford Explorer to test out one of the new features it will have.

Curve Control. It literally helps you when you take on a curve way to rapido. According to Ford, there are more than 50,000 crashes each year in the U.S. alone on tight radius curves, such as freeway ramps.

Ford is pioneering the next frontier of safety with crash-avoidance innovations such as Curve Control, which launches on the all-new 2011 Ford Explorer and rolls out to 90 percent of Ford’s North American crossovers, sport utilities, trucks and vans by 2015

Curve Control is designed to help drivers maintain control of their vehicle when taking a curve too quickly, a situation found to contribute to approximately 50,000 crashes on curves each year in the U.S. alone

Curve Control senses when a vehicle is entering a curve too quickly, and can apply four-wheel smart braking to reduce vehicle speed by up to 10 mph in approximately one second and help drivers follow their intended path

Again, I was given the chance to be in the car with a FORD driver, and go super fast and take on a curve. It was truly amazing. The car senses the curve (that you over took) and brakes/slows/controls the car for you! ~Increíble~

Other great safety features are:

MyKey- Another innovation from the company that introduced SYNC®, allows parents to limit speed and audio volume to encourage teens to drive safer and improve fuel efficiency.

Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL)- Established in 2003 by Ford Motor Company Fund, the Governors Highway Safety Association, and a panel of safety experts to teach newly licensed teens the necessary skills for safe driving beyond what they learn in standard driver education programs. Español

My Ford Touch- MyFord Touch interface includes dual 4.2-inch LCD screens with corresponding five-way button steering wheel controls and an 8-inch touch screen all controlled by simplified SYNC® voice commands.

I swear…. sooner than later, we won’t have to leave our carritos fro anything anymore!!!! (:

This is my final post about my trip to Ford Motor Company. This was truly a very informative and special trip. Thanks to all at Ford who made this possible.
